We have just finished our first STEAM Summer Camp and despite all the frantic behind-the-scenes activity it all went pretty smoothly!

The kids were mostly from PORG International School in Ostrava, where the camp took place. We rented the classroom space from the school and based the week’s activities on the work the kids have done in science and technology lessons.

As I teach Craft And Technology for PORG, I had the tremendous advantage of knowing what the kids have already done. The activities were all extensions of things they have done before, either things we didn’t have time to do during the lessons or improvements on things we did do.

During the days, we looked at how to plan and shoot a video and in the evenings when the kids had gone home, I had a go at learning to edit and put the scenes together because any STEAM site is going to need clear videos explaining how to do stuff!

Anyway, here’s the result of our first week. Hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves so much that this little project will continue and grow into something beyond one school in one town. Enjoy!
